PROGRAM INFORMATION

This virtual cohort will focus on CLIMATE JUSTICE as RACIAL JUSTICE, Using ALL WE CAN SAVE, Design as Protest, Trauma Informed Care, Black Space Manifesto and Critical Race Theory as our foundations. Projects are youth determined, and youth developed, focusing on the following:

Climate Justice as Racial Justice in Built Environment

Climate Justice as Racial Justice in Physical INFRASTRUCTURE

Climate Justice as Racial Justice in COMMUNITY INFRASTRUCTURE

Este grupo se enfocará en la JUSTICIA CLIMÁTICA como JUSTICIA RACIAL, utilizando ALL WE CAN SAVE, Design as Protest, Trauma Informed Care, Black Space Manifesto y la Teoría Crítica de la raza como nuestros fundación. Los proyectos están determinados y desarrollados por jóvenes, centrándose en lo siguiente: 

Justicia climática, como justicia racial en un entorno construido

Justicia climática como justicia racial en la infraestructura física 

Justicia climática como justicia racial en la infraestructura comunitaria 
 

Here’s your chance to be an agent of change as a designer and activist for racial justice! EmpowHER is an interactive program that immerses you in designing places in our city. We will learn about the systems in the city, and dive into how density, gentrification, climate change and policy impact our buildings and community. And more importantly, we’ll explore how YOU can use design as a tool for social and environmental justice.

¡Aquí tienes la oportunidad de ser un agente de cambio como diseñador y activista por la justicia racial! EmpowHER es un programa interactivo que te sumerge en el diseño de lugares de nuestra ciudad. Aprenderemos sobre los sistemas en la ciudad y profundizaremos en cómo la densidad, la gentrificación, el cambio climático y las políticas impactan nuestros edificios y nuestra comunidad. Y lo que es más importante, exploraremos cómo USTED puede usar el diseño como una herramienta para la justicia social y ambiental.

Because we believe that diverse voices and perspectives drive creativity and innovation – and make for more equitable spaces – this program specifically seeks youth participants who identify as BIPoC, women, femme, trans, nb and  LGBTQ+. Upon completion of the program attending 7 of the 8 main sessions participants will receive $250.

Porque creemos que diversas voces y perspectivas impulasan la creatividad y la innovacion, y crean espacios mas equitativos, este programa busca especificament jovenes participantes que se identifican como BIPoC, mujeres, femme, trans, nb, y LGBTQ +. Al finalizar el programa, asistiendo a 7 de las 8 secciones principales los participantes recibirán $250.

If you are interested, you are qualified! You don’t need to be an artist, or designer, just have PASSION to think about the communities that are built in Portland. Come join us to learn about design and architecture while getting paid. We need your voices in building our communities!

Si estás interesado, ¡estás calificado! No es necesario ser artista o diseñador, solo tener PASIÓN para pensar en la ciudad en la que vivimos, las calles por las que caminamos y las comunidades que se construyen en Portland. Únase a nosotros para aprender sobre diseño y arquitectura mientras ganas dinero. ¡Necesitamos sus voces en nuestros edificios!
