Do you love your community, and social justice? DO YOU WANT TO CREATE A BETTER COMMUNITY THROUGH DESIGN AND GET PAID?
Apply by March 1st to be a part of the Designing for Equity Listening & Learning Session
PROGRAM INFORMATION
The Designing for Equity Program is a cohort centering BIPOC youth of the NE community who will work together to unpack the Joy and Justice already in NorthEast and co-create designs for the future, while building trust and relationships. We want to cultivate the resource and the process to be emblematic of the value of design justice. By engaging community members, families, and community organization, youth will seek to better understand the history and the challenges facing the north east community in order to reimagine the future of the neighborhoods.
The mission of this cohort is to create a curriculum that embeds design justice in community and use design equity as a tool for community advocacy.
Interested in participating in initial listening learning sessions in this work? Looking for BIPOC and historically disenfranchised Youth ages 12-20 who would be interested in sharing their experiences, perspectives, and ideas with us.
Upon completion of the 90-minute listening session, participants will receive $30.
If you are interested, you are qualified! You don’t need to be an artist, or designer, just have PASSION to think about the communities that are built in Portland. Come join us to learn about design and architecture while getting paid. We need your voices in building our communities!
