Join the Your Street Your Voice youth cohort as they share their designs For the Multiple Pathways to Graduation Project 2020-2021. Students will share their projects and lead a panel discussion with professionals in the built environment.  This virtual event is open to the public, including families and friends.

Bonnie Hobson,

Principal at Alliance MEEK

Bonnie Hobson earned her bachelors degree at Hendrix College and her masters at Portland State University. She began her work in Portland Public Schools as a teacher in 1982, after two years in the Peace Corps in Kenya. She taught music and math at Hosford Middle School for 3 years and math at Franklin High School for 5 years.  She became a high school vice principal in 1994 and served in that capacity for four years. She was the principal of Roosevelt High School and Gregory Heights Middle School for a total of 9 years.  When Gregory Heights merged with Rose City Park to become Roseway Heights, Bonnie was asked to lead the implementation of the district initiatives for AVID, International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement as part of the Office of Teaching and Learning.  Bonnie is an experienced, savvy, intelligent and effective school leader. Bonnie began at HTLAYW in fall of 2009.

Deepa Bharatkumar, LEED AP -BD+C, Assoc. AIA, CDT,

Senior Associate at Bassetti Architects

Deepa is a Senior Associate & Project Manager at Bassetti Architects, with 20 years of experience. For her, K-12 projects are an opportunity to serve some of the most important people Bassetti designs for – children. As the mother of two, she places high importance on creating schools that are rewarding and enriching for their users and a landmark for the surrounding community.

   

Mariko Park IIDA, CID, LEED AP

Senior Associate | Interior Designer at Bassetti Architects

Mariko is a Senior Associate, Interior Designer at Bassetti Architects. She has over 14 years of experience in a broad range of project types that range from small to large complex projects throughout the West Coast and Mountain regions. Her deepening knowledge of preservation, adaptive reuse, and sustainability brings a perspective that weaves interior design, architecture, and culture into a meaningful experience for end users and continued advocacy for community-based solutions.

 

Nikolas Tucker

Junior Designer with BORA Architects and Interiors

Currently positioned as a junior designer with BORA Architects and Interiors in Portland, Oregon, Nikolas Tucker has cultivated over seven years of experience in the design industries of Portland, Oregon, New York City, and London, England. His experience has provided him with backgrounds in architecture, set, costume, graphic, product, and user experience design.
